Bertie Elizabeth (Gray) Riggs

Bertie Elizabeth Gray Riggs (83) passed away peacefully on March 8th, 2024. She was born February 28, 1941, a daughter of the late Rufus and Nellie Burrows in Oklahoma. Bertie lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed various activities, everything from camping, the Jeep Club, The Roving Fours, the CB radio club, travel, and dancing at the VFW. She worked for Fremont Bank in the bookkeeping department for many years and later worked in the Walmart Garden Center.

Along with her parents, Bertie was preceded in death by her sisters Jewel Williams, and Carol Burrows, and brothers William, Leon, Billy Joe Burrows, and James (Butch) Burrows.

She is survived by her daughters Renee (Matthew) Buchholz, and Rhonda Ferrell; brothers: Robert (Marilyn), Alfred and sister: Beverly; four grandchildren: Shawn Bigrigg, Justin (Rumi) Buchholz, Tayler (Tyler) McFall, Hayley (Brad) Dunlap; and two great-grandchildren: Brooke and Jameson; as well as many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 815 Phelps Ave, Canon City, Colorado.
