Betty R Johansen

Betty Johansen was born on Aug. 10, 1937 in Claremont, NH.  Having fallen in love with the Wet Mountain Valley and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in her 60’s, she moved to CO where she and husband Mikal built their own home and lived happily as residents of Westcliffe for more than 15 years.

Betty was a consummate quilter, crafter and hobbyist, active in the local community where she and her friends have donated hundreds of quilts to the sick, dying and grieving thru their non-profit Comfort Quilts organization. She went to be with her Savior on November 5th 2019 in Pueblo, CO.

She is survived by her husband, children, step children, and grand children who affectionately remember her as the “Hobbit.” A committed Christian woman, her journey produced within many a bountiful harvest of faith spanning generations.
