Debra Dieter-Mersman Obituary

Debra Lynn Dieter-Mersman was born in Denver, CO on December 11, 1965, to Dale and Sharon Dieter. On May 30, 2023, Debra passed surrounded with love and family.

Debra lived in Canon City since June of 1984 and graduated from Florence High School in 1985. Debra was known as “Lil Deb” to the community as she was the Little Debbie Snack Cake Distributer for 22 years in Fremont County. She always took the time to talk to those that stopped to see her while she was stocking those shelves. She was full of laughter and smiles that we know the community will miss as much as her family.

Debra loved spending time with her family, going to car shows, camping, and four-wheeling. She had a love of The Pittsburg Steelers and got to watch them play in Pittsburg for their 80th year anniversary game in 2012. Her grandkids were her pride and joy and she enjoyed attending all their activities and cheering them on.

Debra faithfully attended The Lincoln Park Church of the Nazarene from 1984-2010 along with her parents and children.  After her dad retired from the Nazarene church as the pastor, she found The Canon Community Baptist Church as her new church until her passing.

Debra is survived by her husband, Christopher Mersman of Canon City, they were married August 6, 2010;  her two daughters, Heather Carnahan and Tonya (Jimmy) Madone of Canon City; stepson, Zackary Zinanti of Austin, CO;  stepdaughter, Ashley Wahl of Blaine, MN; two brothers, Robert (Josi) Dieter of Redding, CA and Brian (Suzi) Dieter of Canon City; four grandchildren who she thought the world of, Kennady (17) & Kyle (15) Carnahan, Taytum (8) and Claira (3) Madone; fathers-in-law, Edward Drake of Moffet, CO and Gary (Rose) Mersman of Salida, CO; sister-in-law Dione Mersman of Austin, CO and brothers-in-law Jason (Amy) Mersman of Florida and Gary Jr. Mersman of Grand Junction; as well as eight nephews and five nieces.
