Deloris Opal Babb

Deloris “Dee” Opal Babb went to be with the Lord on January 8, 2022, at the age of 72. She was born on November 20, 1949, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Her family then moved to Canon City shortly after.

Deloris graduated from Canon City High School in 1968. After graduating she worked at Gasoline Alley and The Joker diner. After having her 1st two children she started a home daycare, which she had for 23 years. Then, in 1998, she started with the Colorado Department of Corrections where she retired after 16 years at the age of 65. Soon after her retirement, she started working at Safe Watch helping others, which she truly enjoyed.

Deloris was an avid bowler and loved working in the yard and being outside. She touched the hearts of everyone she met, whether it be family, friends, or co-workers. She had a heart as big as the sky and would do anything for anyone.

Deloris is survived by three children, Dewayne [Kathy (McNicholas)] Babb, Dorene Babb, and Richard Babb; her one and only special grandson, Jonathan Babb, the true love of her life; and niece, Laura (Marion) Ramos of Aledo, TX.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Wilson Funeral Home in Canon City, Colorado. In recognition of her simple nature, please come as you are, with no concern for “fancy dress”.
