Dixie Ewton Obituary

Dixie Lee Ewton, age 82 of Canon City, Colorado took her last breath here on earth to join her family who have preceded her, and her heavenly father, on April 25, 2021. 

She was born on December 24, 1938 to William and Annie Mc Whorter Bowen in Wattensaw, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Marshal Ewton, sisters Katherine Shepherd, and Ann Ryals, and her brother Shelton (Butch) Bowen.  Surviving relatives include 2 daughters Vickie Brown and Terri O’Donnell (Patrick) of Canon City, 1 son James (Mike) Ewton (Sheryl) of Pueblo West;  3 grandchildren; Michael Brown, Seth Ewton (Camisha), and Lauren Knight (Melonie), and 4 great grand-children; Hana Brown, Jude and Isley Ewton, and Kase Brown. 

She was a member of Greydene Independent Baptist Church in Canon City.  She was a military wife and enjoyed being a part of the NCO club.  She enjoyed flower arranging, gardening, cake decorating, ceramics, and decorating her home.  She was a Godly woman who loved to serve in the flower and card ministries of her church.  She was a prayer warrior and loved reading and studying God’s word. 

A memorial Celebration of her Life service will be held on Saturday, May 1st, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Connect Church at 1500 N. 10th Street in Canon City, CO.  Services will be officiated by Pastor Thomas Kilgore, and Pastor Richard Wilson.  She will be buried at Petillo Hill Cemetery in Centerville, Arkansas with her beloved husband.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Greydene Independent Baptist Church, 333 Greydene Avenue, Canon City, CO 81212, to be used to further the ministry of the God that she loved and served.
