In loving Memory of Nora Eilen Dechant and Dora Ellen Bastian

Beloved identical sisters born on July 13,1947 in Nevada shared a lifelong bond that remained unbroken throughout their 78 years of life. Nora passed away on June 6, 2026, and Dora followed on June 7, 2026. After a lifetime that began side by side, they will now be laid to rest together.

Though their life with us was far too short Nora and Dora brought immense love, hope, and light to our lives. They will be forever remembered as our beautiful and kind mothers, deeply cherished and eternally loved. We do not remember a time when we didn't live around the corner from each other. They raised and cared for their children as though we were one family.

Nora Eilen Dechant is survived by her son, Richard Ward.  She was a devoted wife, valued her independence, and found contentment in the simple routines of daily life. Her son Richard described his mother as a "kind and loving mother."

Dora Ellen Bastian is survived by her children, Gene Dechant, David Manley, Rosemarie Gregory, Brenda Barmer, Jacob Dechant, and Laura Dechant, multiple grandchildren, extended family members, and others who knew her throughout her life. She was strong, loyal, and always wanted the best for her children. She was content in raising her children to be like minded and to be strong and independent in their lives.

While we mourn them as two fiercely strong women, as identical twins they entered this world together, shared a lifetime of memories, and after passing one day apart, they will now rest side by side once more. Their extraordinary bond will be remembered by all who knew them.

A graveside service celebrating the lives of Nora and Dora will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Colorado Burial Preserve, 7997 CO-67, Florence, Colorado 81226. A reception will follow at Pathfinder Park Event Center, 6655 CO-115, Florence, Colorado 81226.
