Lolita Rodriguez Obituary

Lolita Angellano Rodriguez, 79, of Colorado Springs, CO departed her worldly home surrounded by her children and grandchildren on July 28, 2026, at Memorial Hospital Central in Colorado Springs, CO after a long battle with health problems.

Lolita was born on December 15, 1946, in Baloy, Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija, Philippines to Juan Angellano and Anatalia Dela Cruz.

Lolita spent her early adulthood in the Philippines traveling through villages among her family and attending school. In 1974, she married Antonio M. Rodriguez who was in the navy and stationed in the Philippines. After a stop in Hawaii that included the birth of her first daughter, Tania, she landed in the US. After her husband left the military, she moved to and spent the rest of her life in Colorado working in positions in the restaurant, retail, and computer technology industries.

Lolita was a strong and independent lady with a feisty spirit. She was dedicated to her family and embodied a life of generosity and support. Although she could be straight-forward at times, she was always well-intentioned and had the best interests of her family at heart. Her innocent humor and smile were always enjoyed on family occasions. In her spare time, she enjoined fishing and gardening early on, and, most recently, eating Filipino food at her favorite restaurant, playing games with her friends, enjoying a game of BINGO at the local hall, and an occasional trip to Cripple Creek to play at the casinos. She will be missed and never forgotten by everyone who loves her.

Lolita is survived her children, Tania (& Frank) Renee Ouimette of Herriman, UT, Roberto (& Jessica) Jose Rodriguez of Colorado Springs, CO, and Angela Marie Rodriguez of Colorado Springs, CO; her grandchildren Raychel Anne Pope of Herriman, UT, Christopher Edward Ouimette of Herriman, UT, Elizabeth Kelly Ouimette of Herriman, UT; Rylan Asher Rodriguez of Colorado Springs, CO, Elias (& Mikenna) Lucero Rodriguez of Colorado Springs, CO, Shiloh Rayn Rodriguez of Colorado Springs, CO who lovingly called her “Grandma Lola”; Derrick Anthony Rodriguez of Colorado Springs, CO, Jerell William Amari Ward Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO, and Mikai William King Rodriguez of Colorado Springs, CO; her great grandchildren, Mathias Walter Pope, and Charlotte Rae Pope of Herriman, UT; her brother Melchor dela Cruz Angellano, and a multitude of extended family in the Philippines and around the world.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Angellano and Anatalia Dela Cruz and several of her brothers and other beloved family.

A celebration of life is pending.
