Luanna “Lucille” Dawes passed away on March 13, 2023 in Canon City, CO. She was born October 13, 1934 to Jack and Vedah (Venosdel) Havens in Vilas, CO. As a child, Lucille moved to Grand Junction, and then to Leadville, eventually ending up in Canon City, where she graduated from Canon City High School in 1952. After graduating, she attended Blair Business College in Colorado Springs, and then worked as secretary to the Colonel at Fort Carson for several years. She was also a bookkeeper for Helm’s Drug Store and Horizon Pharmacy. On November 25, 1961, she married Ray Dawes. Lucille is survived by her daughter, Linda (Alan) Drake; grandchildren, Jordan (Brooke) Drake, Spencer (Juli) Drake; great-grandsons, Easton Drake, Fletcher Drake, Graham Drake, Hudson Drake; and great-granddaughter, Harper Drake; brother-in-law, Lesley (Bobbie) Dawes; numerous extended family, many friends, and her devoted four-legged companion, Marley Mae. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray Dawes; and great-grandson, Hayes Drake.

Services for Lucille will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Wilson Memorial Chapel: 1449 S 9th St in Canon City.
