Marie Ofelia Trujillo
Obituary
Marie Ofelia Trujillo was called home to God on September 1, 2022. Marie was the second child of nine and was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Alfredo and Juanita Trujillo on August 27, 1922. She was a wartime vet and was discharged from the Army on January 13, 1947, at the rank of Second Lieutenant in the Nurses’ Corps. After leaving the service, Marie graduated from the University of Colorado in 1952 with a degree in nursing and went on to retire from the CU Medical Center as an RN.
Marie is survived by her sisters, Juanita Guilmette, Esther Napp, and Roberta Ayotte; and numerous nieces, nephews, great–nieces, and great-nephews.
Her interests included Cats, the CU Buffaloes, watching sports, bowling, Opera, and arts and crafts. Marie had a quick wit, and a great sense of humor, and was a very generous person.
There will be a Funeral Mass at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on September 13, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. in Canon City, Colorado. Burial to follow at Mountain Vale Memorial Gardens.
