Patricia Louise (Englert) DiOrio

Patricia Louise (Englert) DiOrio, 89, of Canon City, CO, died peacefully on July 20, 2022, at home. She was born on July 5, 1933, in Syracuse, KS.

Patricia graduated from St. Scholastica Academy and went on to nursing school at St. Joe’s in Denver. She was well known in the medical field and worked at St. Thomas Moore, Dr. Wyatt’s office, Dr. Vincent’s office, PCC, and Hildebrand Care Center. Her nursing career spanned 50 years. She married Rockey DiOrio on February 14, 1953 and had 4 children: Randy (Donna) DiOrio, Maureen Santarelli, Julie Eggleston, and Gina (Eric) Denniston. They were married for 44 years.

Patricia enjoyed playing cards, tending to her roses, and going on trips to Cripple Creek. Most of all, she will be remembered for her love of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Patricia is survived by her sister, Marlene O’Byrne; one brother, Tom (Harriet) Englert; sister-in-law, Sharon Englert; and 8 grandchildren, Chad DiOrio, Rockey DiOrio, Lyndsey DiOrio, Ben (Kristi) DiOrio, Trish Johnson, Dillon Coffee, Taylor Denniston, and Nate Denniston; and 2 great-grandchildren, Dominic DiOrio and Mazie DiOrio. 

There will be a vigil and viewing at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Thursday, July 28, 2022, from 4:00-5:00 p.m. with the Rosary following at 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will also be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2022. Interment will follow services at Lakeside Cemetery.
