Paula Watson, 74, of Canon City, Colorado, peacefully passed away on September 11, 2023.
She was born on April 29, 1949, in Pueblo, Colorado, to her parents Anna Tobey and Walter H Olin; Adopted Parents, Lee A Day, Iris King and Doyle Eugene Tobey.
Paula is survived by her loving children, Larry Lee Watson Jr. and Barby Watson; grandchildren and a great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her children Robby Watson, Mindy Watson; her grandson Tanner Watson; and several sisters and brothers.
Paula had a fulfilling career in the Department of Corrections for 39 years, where she served in Administration and as a Correctional Officer. She dedicated her life to public service and made a positive impact on the lives of many.
In her free time, Paula enjoyed various hobbies. She loved playing BINGO, fishing, sewing, crafting, refurbishing furniture, and taking care of her flower gardens and yard. She also enjoyed baking and taking it to the homeless in town. She attended church services at Grace Christian Fellowship Church, Nazarene Church, and Wesleyan Church, all located in Canon City.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Paula's life will be held at Wilson Funeral Home in Canon City, Colorado on September 20, 2023 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to go to Orchard of Hope, Fremont Regional Hospice, or the Care and Share Food Bank all of Canon City, CO.
Paula Watson will be remembered as a generous, loving mother and friend who dedicated her life to serving others and her Lord Jesus Christ. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.
Paula requested that attendees wear bright colors. The family asks for privacy at their house and everyone to meet at the funeral home for services.
