Sandra "Sandy" K. Collins, 79, of Canon City, Colorado, passed away peacefully on November 19,  2023, at 4:00 pm at Skyline Ridge with loved ones Shelli, Daniel, Tami, Kim, and Cheri by her side. She was born on November 30, 1943, in Farmington, Michigan. Sandra lived a fulfilling life, leaving behind cherished memories with her loved ones.

Sandra was a very social person who deeply valued her family and friends. While she enjoyed her solitude and time spent in her home, she always found joy in the company of others. Her warm and welcoming nature made her a beloved presence in the lives of those around her.

In her educational journey, Sandra attended Canon City High School. Following her graduation, she embarked on a life filled with adventure and exploration. Sandra resided in various states, including North Carolina, California, Missouri, and Utah, before finally returning to Canon City, where she found her place to settle down and continue raising her family.

Throughout her life, Sandra pursued a variety of occupations, each one bringing its own sense of fulfillment. Notably, she worked in admissions at St. Thomas More hospital, where she made a positive impact on the lives of many.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Sandra had a wide range of hobbies that brought her immense joy. She found solace in the great outdoors, enjoying activities such as fishing, hunting, and camping. Sandra also had a creative side, expressing herself through oil painting and sewing. She loved to dance, garden, cook, play cards, and engage in lively conversations. Her computer skills allowed her to explore her passion for creating brochures, and she found solace in the world of literature through her love for reading.

Sandy’s memory will forever be cherished by her children; Tamela “Tami” Grindstaff, Michelle “Shelli” (Daniel) Petit, and Kimberly “Kimi” (David) Renfroe; bonus children, Terry Parker, Cheryl Williams, Brenda Hidalgo, and Rob Collins. She is also survived by her siblings, Cheri (Troy) Glidewell and David (Phyllis) Rauh; grandchildren, Caleb Berkley, Kenneth “Kenny” Ruggieri, Daniel “Danny” (Lucy) Grindstaff and their children Michelle, Tommy, Mikayla, and Mia, CJ (Kayleigh) Berkley and their children Robert, Brooklynn, Liliana, Bryan (Kelly) Renfroe and their children Patrick and Zoey;  Karissa Grindstaff and her children  Blake, Landon, Logan, and Brooklin;  Catie RaLynne Grindstaff and her children  Doni and River; as well as Sandra's great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Collins; parents, Helen and Bill Rauh; siblings, Stella Kindt, Betty Dennis, and Robert Rauh; beloved son, Donald “Doni” Dean Grindstaff; daughter-in-law, Kyla Porter; and grandson, Tommy Ruggieri.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Holt Funeral Home Chapel of the Garden. The interment will take place in Mountain Vale Gardens and Mausoleum, where Sandra will find eternal rest.

Sandy will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose warm spirit and vibrant personality touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in our hearts.
